Dr. S. Rajagopalan is a Chemical Engineer with a post-graduate degree in Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, and a doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.
He has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Bangalore, for about 13 years. He also has been involved in the management of science and technology research, demonstration and dissemination projects. He has coordinated projects in several areas such as rural and renewable energy, housing, rural industry, environment, urban planning and habitat, water and agriculture, education and life sciences.
He has good experience in projects involving multi-organizational interaction and has closely studied the process of diffusion of technologies. Moreover, he is one of the pioneers in the use of computer-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the management of natural resources.
He is currently a professor at IIT, Bangalore.
